One reason why Vivi Kola is so well known among our parents' and grandparents' generation is that the brand from Eglisau was the main sponsor of the Tour de Suisse in the golden era of Swiss cycling. They called the fine effervescent “racing driver beer.” And so it is that there are countless photos from this period of Swiss cycling legends such as Ferdy “National” Kübler or the tragic “pedaleur de charme” Hugo Koblet, showing them wearing stylishly embroidered jerseys holding a bottle of Vivi Kola. Because our clever marketing ancestors had Vivi Kola contractually assured them of this: After crossing the finish line, a photo of the winner and Vivi Kola had to be taken! This is how Vivi Kola made a breakthrough and became known throughout Switzerland.

As a tribute to the golden age of cycling in our country, the young Swiss fashion label Le Picot has created a collection of retro jerseys made from the finest merino wool. For this, they drew inspiration from archive images and, of course, a jersey based on the iconic design by Vivi Kola could not be missing. A Vivi-Kola team in this shirt passed the legendary “L'Eroica” cycling tour on the Tuscan gravel roads a few years ago. Now Le Picot has reissued it.

Le Picot is a label that, like Vivi Kola, is committed to responsible and fair production — except that everything revolves around fashion and not lemonades. Behind this is a team that did not find what they were looking for in the city when looking for stylish, practical and sustainable clothes for cyclists. So they started designing their own clothes, with exciting cuts, practical details and a sporty, elegant look. Garments that are produced with respect for nature and under fair conditions — in line with the “slow fashion” movement.
